Once we all got to the 1998 Provan Family Reunion, we had to do a group shot. We nearly got everyone there at the same time. Only one cousin and two second cousins missed the reunion altogether, although Nephew Jonathan didn't arrive until the day after the picture was taken.
The first shot is pretty good, with everyone behaving (except Cousin Bonnie, who's hiding), and everyone looking at the birdie (except Aunt Blanche who appears to be watching Uncle Bill to make sure he's behaving: always a good idea). The second take reflects the gang better, and it's a better framed picture, too.
The second shot is more true to life. As you can see, you can't keep this group focused for very long. A couple of them appear to have fallen asleep and there are several cut ups. Typical. Some might prefer the first take, but the second take is the real family.
I've always dreamed of making a clickable version of the group shot so you can find out who everyone is, but I probably never will.
